We, the WHO HQ Fitness Centre Committee (FCC), are here to help our members stay active and improve our overall health, and to foster a sense of community and camaraderie. Our goal is to provide promote physical activity at the workplace and to provide access to fitness equipment and classes in an easily accessible, safe, and enjoyable facilities. Our fitness activities range from functional training to yoga sessions.

We want to motivate and inspire you to reach your individual fitness and wellness goals. 

The WHO FCC is responsible for the management of the different fitness facilities on WHO campus including those in the UNAIDS/D building.

Instructor lead classes

Instructor-led classes provide a wide variety of exercises and activities to help individuals reach their fitness goals. Classes range from Pilates, yoga, aerobics to strength training.

Gym Access and Equipment

Our fitness facilities are a great asset to our organization. They are equipped with various types of fitness equipment, and provide a convenient way for staff to stay healthy and active during the workday.

Who can join

Membership is open to all WHO/UNAIDS staff, consultants, interns, volunteers and non-WHO staff such as facilities, restaurant or travel ageny employees, etc. who have paid the membership fee.

Membership

One comprehensive subscription for 120.- CHF and it includes the following:

  • 12 months of unlimited access including free classes
  • Access to the Blue, Yellow and Pink gym facilities located in the L building
  • Access to the gym facilities located in the D building
  • Access to outdoor areas located at the B and D building

Indoor Gyms:
Yellow
 – L-2 bldg (WHO)
Blue     – L-2 bldg (WHO)
Spin room     – L-2 bldg (WHO)
Cross training – S1 UNAIDS/D building

Outdoor areas:
B – building (WHO)
D – building (WHO/UNAIDS)

Classes and Training

A range of classes are offered (Boxercise, yoga, pilates, karate, cross training, and more). As per security and health directives, a maximum of 10 people is recommended in indoor gyms at all times.

All indoor gyms can be accessed for open training sessions outside of class hours.

Building Access

Access to the D – building (WHO/UNAIDS)
training area is from the right side of the D building.

Facilities

Change rooms, showers and locker space is available in the L and D building. L ocker space is available in the L building.
